I have been a fitness enthusiast for 20 years now. I was a member, at one point or another, at all of the big gyms out there and some smaller ones. I can honestly say none of them compare to NY Strong. Why do I say this? First, the gym is clean and everyone respects that it is their responsibility to clean up after themselves. Second, the variety and caliber of equipment is unmatched in any gym I have ever been to. Third, individuals are there to challenge themselves with exercise, not stare at themselves in the mirror while getting in the way of others. Lastly, NY Strong isn't just a gym, it's a community. One where members are not intimidated by others, support and respect both for the equipment and fellow members are always on display, and everyone guts it out.

I joined NY Strong on New Years Day, 2021, and so began the best year of training that I've ever had. The facility is spacious, clean, and has everything that anyone realistically needs to get strong and conditioned, plus a slew of fun toys for variety. Perhaps most importantly, it's a great community – I know nearly everyone who works and trains at the facility by name and enjoy talking training and life with all of them. The folks range from gifted competitors to beginners, and everyone is friendly and helpful. For me personally, with an extraordinarily demanding work schedule and other commitments, having 24/7 access has been and continues to be a godsend. All of this resulted in a year filled with personal records, and I'm expecting more numbers to fall in 2022. I'm going to be moving later this year, and one of the biggest considerations in my remaining in the lower Westchester area is that I'm dead set on continuing to train at NY Strong.

I have been training in the facility, nystrong for nearly 4 years. The gym is absolutely the best gym any athlete can ask for equipment wise. I have trained in numerous gyms in my years working towards my fitness goals. This gym brings something more to its environment and culture. It's an atmosphere of togetherness and competitive spirit. There are young athletes that constantly challenge eachother and older experienced fitness enthusiasts that are taking group classes, strength athletes some of which are the strongest in the state and country and a myriad of experienced staff and trainers always willing to help and care about every experience you have at the gym. It is more than a gym to many almost a second home and with each new member it grows better and better.

What I like about NY Strong is that it reminds me of R & J Health Studio in Brooklyn, where I worked out in 1975. It is the location where the movie Pumping Iron was filmed. It is also where Lou Ferrigno was seen working out in those days.
